A:Is Jeff the man you've been going out with?
B:Yes, he is. I don't think we are such a good couple so I stood him up a couple of times. But he's not taking the hint.
A:That's why you've been screening calls. I think you should tell him that you're not right for each other. Take the direct approach!
A : 제프가 네가 사귀는 남자야?
B : 그래. 근데 우리는 좀 아닌 것 같아서 몇 번이고 그를 실망시키려고 노력했는데 눈치를 못 채.
A : 그래서 전화 목록을 검사 하시는군. 차라리 네가 그에게 우리는 어울리지 않는다고 직접 말하는게 나을 것 같아. 직접 말해!
He's not taking the hint! 는 '눈치를 못 채다' 라는 말로, He's clueless, 혹은 He's got no clue 그밖에 He's not getting it 등으로 대신 쓸 수 있습니다.
회초리를 영어로 stick 이라고 할까요?
